What We Do

Conservation

We protect and restore the headwater streams that sustain native brook trout across the Blue Ridge. Our volunteers lead habitat projects, water‑quality monitoring, and access improvements that safeguard coldwater fisheries for future generations.

Education

From Kid’s Fishing Day to classroom science programs, we help young people and families build confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong connection to local water. Education remains at the heart of our conservation mission.

Community & Events

We bring anglers, volunteers, and newcomers together through monthly meetings, stream workdays, and signature events like Kid’s Day. Everything we do is powered by community and shared stewardship.

Monthly Meetings

Our chapter meets on the first Wednesday of each month with the exception of June, July and August to share conservation updates, plan upcoming projects, and connect with fellow anglers who care about the Rapidan and Blue Ridge watershed. These meetings are the heart of our community and a welcoming place for new members to get involved

Fly of the Month

Before each chapter meeting, members gather to tie the Fly of the Month — a pattern chosen to highlight seasonal hatches, local techniques, or classic Rapidan favorites. It’s a relaxed, hands‑on way to learn new skills, share knowledge, and build community at the vise.

Get Involved

Join the chapter, volunteer on upcoming projects, or attend an event to support local trout streams and the people who care for them.
