π Event Description
Join veteran angler Andy H. for a morning of smallmouth bass fly fishing on the scenic South Fork Shenandoah River at Elkton Riverside Park. This is the perfect opportunity to hone your casting skills, swap stories with fellow fly fishers, and chase aggressive summer bass in prime river habitat.
We’ll meet at 9:00 AM sharp at the town park parking lot before heading down to the river. The section offers excellent wading access and productive water for poppers, crawfish patterns, and streamers.
π What to Bring
- Fly rod (5β7 wt recommended)
- Smallmouth flies: poppers, crawfish, and streamers
- Wading gear: wet wading is encouraged
- Wading staff for safety
- Sunscreen, bug spray, snacks and hydration

The park is only accessible by the directions below:
Elkton Riverside Park is located just off HWY-33 in Elkton, VA. Turn on 5th street and follow the road to 4th street into the park and look for public parking near the river access at the end of the road. Itβs a short walk to the water.
Andy will have his truck parked at the Elkton landing by Route 33 if anyone plans to bring a canoe or boat and needs a shuttle back to Elkton Park.
